PRP Hair Loss Treatment

Hair thinning and hair loss are common issues that affect both men and women. If you are bothered by the appearance of your thinning hair and wish to achieve thicker hair for a boost in confidence, we can help! Our team at Pinnacle Dermatology & Skin Rejuvenation offers PRP hair loss treatments to help you achieve thicker hair, without harsh chemicals or surgery for a boost in confidence.

What is PRP Hair Loss Treatment?

Platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) treatment is an advanced technique that uses your own blood platelets to stimulate hair growth. When PRP is applied to hair follicles, it prolongs the growing phase of the hair cycle for thicker, fuller hair.

PRP for hair loss may offer many benefits including:

  • Thicker, denser hair in the treated area.
  • Reversal of thinning hair.
  • Regrowth of receding hairline.
  • Improvement in self-confidence due to hair growth.

Who is a Good Candidate for PRP for Hair Loss?

If you are looking for a natural way to improve hair growth, you may be able to benefit from PRP treatments. Plus, because this treatment uses the blood from your own body, there is little to no chance of an allergic reaction, which makes it a great option for many!

Those with certain blood clotting conditions or blood-related disorders may not be good candidates for this treatment option. To learn more about if this treatment is right for you, contact our office today to schedule your consultation appointment with Dr. Gray.

The PRP Hair Loss Treatment Process

The PRP treatment process will begin with drawing your blood, similar to a routine blood draw at your doctor’s office. We will then place your blood into a device called a centrifuge, which will separate the blood platelets from the rest of the blood. This platelet-rich plasma is then injected into the areas of the scalp that require hair growth. For best results, most people require four treatments over a 4-week period, which maintenance treatments every 4-6 months.

PRP for Hair Loss Recovery

Following PRP hair loss treatments, you may experience temporary redness or swelling, which will dissipate over the next few days. There is no downtime needed, though we recommend avoiding exercise that will lead to excessive sweating. You will be able to see a visible improvement in your hair growth over the course of several months. Growth rates may be different for each patient.
